Hello and happy Wednesday!
Monday I hosted a Facebook Live for Altenew, where we played with the lovely Penned Rose stamps and Penned Rose dies. The video is below; you can also watch it on Facebook too. Keep reading to see project pics and instructions.

Here’s the first one—
This card shows the rose simply stamped with Jet Black ink on white cardstock. For the background, I used an old hotel key card to scrape white acrylic paint onto a piece of book paper. Ink the edges of pink cardstock with embossing ink and dip into ose Gold embossing powder , then heat set. Repeat with the card blank. Then layer the pieces together and add the die-cut rose and leaves.
This card is made with a simple craft sheet watercolor technique. Stamp the rose with Jet Black ink, then make a watery wash of Ocean Waves ink on the craft sheet. Use a little brayer to roll out the ink—it will bead up on the craft sheet, so when you press the stamped rose into the wet ink, you get a beautiful variegated look. Repeat with Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades (my two favorite greens) and stamp the leaves. Die cut the elements.
To make the background, make a watery wash of Jet Black, then use a waterbrush or small paintbrush to spatter the ink onto white cardstock. Wrap the piece with gold embroidery thread, then add the rose with foam tape.
For this card, first stamp the rose with embossing ink, then sprinkle it with Rose Gold embossing powder and heat set. Make a watery wash of Warm Sunshine ink on a craft sheet and paint in the flower. Spritz the flower with water, then add a watery wash of Coral Berry ink. Turn the cardstock over and press it into the watery yellow and red inks. Lift and let dry.
The edges of the piece are embossed with Rose Gold, as is the sentiment. The piece is then matted on white and pink cardstock. A narrow strip of white cardstock is matted on pink and glued as a border. I’ve added pearls and gold embroidery thread.
This was the bonus card—I wanted to show how simple and elegant the rose looks as it’s embossed and placed onto a spattered background.
