Big, beautiful stamped blossoms are perfect for spring-themed cards! This time I’m playing with Altenew’s Simply the Best stamp set, which is a super-easy layered design that results in an attention-getting 3″ image.

The trick for tone-on-tone layered stamps? Choose three shades of a single color: One light, one medium, and one dark. You’ll stamp the base layer with the lightest color, then stamp a second image directly on top with a medium color, and add the detail with the darkest.
For this card, I started with a base silhouette layer of Citrus Burst, then Fresh Lemon for the middle layer, and Honey Drizzle for the detail. The flower center I used Buttercreme.

You can also slip one or more layers to create a different look. Here, I’ve stamped the middle layer with Moon Rock, then the detail with black.

You can also opt to stamp just the detail layer, but angle it to create a single flower image. First I stamped it with Aqualicious, then again with black. I added some Honey Drizzle in the center to help disguise the imperfect line-up.

This last card uses only the flower center as a border, stamped with very pale Dew Drop ink.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy!
