Hi friends! Last week I hosted a You Tube Live featuring the Watercolor Blooms stamp and die collection. This set of stamps is full of petite, easy-to-layer flowers and leaves that can be used as layers, or singly.
The flowers can easily be stamped in a layered fashion, with a light color of ink (here, Pink Pearl or Coral Bliss) and a darker color on top (here, it’s Ruby Red) with a different stamp. If you’re new to stamp layering, this is a nice set to start with because you can be a bit off in your placement and it will still look great!
These are the stamps, and the coordinating dies are below.
Here’s one of my favorite card projects from the session. Please note, You Tube froze suddenly as we were coming to the end of the live video, so the remaining part of the demo is shown here. It is not my intention to have a cliffhanger like that (as I was right in the middle of a demo!) but sometimes the internet does unexpected things.)
I used Copper embossing powder for the leaves and the spattering on the strips behind the flowers. For the leaves, simply press your embossing inkpad onto white cardstock, cover with embossing powder, heat-set and then die cut.
For the spattered background, flick water onto your white cardstock, immediately cover with embossing powder and heat-set quickly from underneath the paper before the water dries.
Here’s a closer look:
There are more projects to see in the video, Part 1 of the session and Part 2! (Yes, #2 is listed as #3 on You Tube because we had a failed try on a second attempt…. gotta love technology, right?!) Hope you get a chance to take a look. Enjoy!
