Happy Wednesday! Today I’m delighted to announce a brand-new video series on my You Tube channel, Studio SN. This new series is called Cardmaking Tips, and it will bring you some of the most popular demos from my shows on Create and Craft TV.
I know many of you tape the shows to watch later, which is a great way to keep up with all the tips and demos…yet sometimes it’s just easier if you can find the materials online! So that’s my mission—and every few weeks, I’ll film a close-up of one of the demos I do on air. Hope you enjoy!
Today let’s start with Echo Park and a fun Old World Travel Adventure card. I think this card is a great one for wishing someone well as they embark on a summer adventure, as a Good Luck card for a college-bound student or really for anyone who just loves the idea of travel and exploration. Plus, once you feel the texture on that patterned cardstock….well, I think you’ll love it as much as I do. Paper People, unite!
Cardmaking with Echo Park Old World Travel Collection card—what you need:
– Echo Park Old Word Travel Collection Kit (contains dies, patterned cardstock, maps and stamps): Create and Craft USA
– Black inkpad
– Small blue flat-back pearls
– Hemp twine
– Die cutting machine
– Masking or washi tape
– Cardstock: tan, gray, brown, white
– Foam tape
Cardmaking with Echo Park Old World Travel Collection card—how to make it:
1. Clip apart the dies and file off any metal edges.
2. Use black ink to stamp the bicycle on tan cardstock. Place the bicycle die on top of the stamped image and secure it in place with some washi tape. Run through your die-cutting machine.
3. Form a blank white card and cover the front with patterned cardstock. Ink the outside edges with black.
4. Mat the map paper on green cardstock, then on tan. Stamp “adventure” at the bottom with black, then mat on gray and brown. Tear the bottom edge. Glue to the card front.
5. Wrap the edge of the card front with hemp twine.
6. Add the bicycle to the card front with foam tape. Glue two small flat-back pearls to the tire centers.
Easy, isn’t it? A great card for so many occasions, too. And don’t forget…if you want to watch the video tutorial, just pop over to Studio SN on You Tube and watch the Cardmaking Tips: Cardmaking with Echo Park Old World Travel Collection video!
