Just back from a lovely dinner with friends from Hot Off The Press—and thought I’d share the day’s eye candy!
The day started with an 8:00am class on the Spectrum Noir pens from Crafter’s Companion. I will admit I’m not a “pen person” and definitely not a colorist the way some people are able to create amazingly shaded and lovely pieces, but I wanted to know more about these alcohol ink pens, their properties and try some out. Guess what? I love them! I’m still not a colorist (apparently it takes practice) but I am ready to start scribbling away on some more free-form mixed media pieces.
Then off to the show floor to catch up with some of my favorites, like Mod Podge. I am a Mod Podge gal, and had to stop by the booth. (Am I the only one who just adores the logo?)
They’re introducing new Mod Melts, which go into a glue gun and melt to fill molds. Just squeeze it in, let it cool and you’ve got embellishments that look a whole lot like these white antique resin flowers I bought at a vintage fair. Now I can make my own! (Or color them with alcohol ink, paint, glitter, sprays…the list goes on…)
Then it’s down the aisle to the Faber-Castell booth for more playing with Gelatos. We used them on Heidi Swapp paper and Maya Road wood pieces.
Of course I couldn’t pass by the Ice Resin booth, where they were doing a demo on their new cold enameling with Iced Enamels. SUPER cool.
After meetings, a quickie lunch, a seminar on creating online videos (guess what’s coming your way???) and another dash around the show floor (including a lovely catch-up chat with Sara from Crafter’s Companion) these pretty cards at JustRite caught my eye.
Now back to the hotel and now I’ve got to get to bed…I’m here for one more day tomorrow and want to make the most of it…especially my early-morning invite-only session at Ranger!
Enjoy!
