Hi friends! Today I want to show you an easy tone-on-tone effect you can get when using Grunge Paste straight from the jar onto white cardstock. As we’ve seen, Grunge Paste has a slightly off-white color—it’s not bright white, and it’s not cream… it’s just a perfect in-between shade that’s beautifully neutral, and fabulous in combination with other neutral colors.
You can see the background is Grunge Paste stenciled onto white cardstock, using the PS178 stencil from PaperArtsy. The middle portion is the reverse stenciling effect we looked at earlier—simply place a piece of black card into the still-wet Grunge Paste left over on the stencil, press and lift to reveal an abstract pattern. The heart is from the Eclectica ESN32 stamp set. See the video for the complete process.
Here’s a closer look at the card—
And a closer look still—
The stamps, stencil and Grunge Paste are all from PaperArtsy. You can find PaperArtsy supplies at your independent craft stores, both brick-and-mortar and online. For those in the US, try Frantic Stamper; those in the UK can check out Stampers Grove. While these two are not the only PaperArtsy retailers, they do carry a wide range.
