Gel Plate PaperArtsy Card

Hi friends! Today I have an easy card for you, using one of my favorite tools: the 3″x5″ Gel Plate. This can easily be used to create monoprinted backgrounds, like the one you see here—even though my card is larger than 3″x5″. I’ve simply placed the gel plate onto an acrylic block and used it as a stamp, then accented around it. Let’s take a look—

First, I placed the gel plate onto a large acrylic block. Then I brayered PaperArtsy Lemon Meringue and Koala onto the gel plate. I placed the “notes” portion of the PS220 stencil onto the gel plate—be sure to flip it so the words read the wrong way!—and used a damp baby wipe to remove the paint from the letters. Then lift the stencil, hold the block and stamp it onto white cardstock—just as you would a regular stamp!

Once dry, I used a blend of the Koala and Lemon Meringue to stamp the lines and the ampersand from the Eclectica ESN49 stamp set onto the cardstock. The script is from the Eclectica ESN48 stamp set. I overstamped onto the cardstock and onto painted snippets of paper with black ink and words from ESN49 and bits from ESN47 and ESN48.

I added a few staples as well but kept the overall design simple and monochromatic.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card! Take care and I’ll see you next week!
