Hi friends! Today I want to share a really cool way to get textured, colored backgrounds that are lightweight and not too bulky—perfect if you’re using them for cards or art journal pages. You can check out the video on Facebook by clicking here, and scroll down to learn more.
All you need is Grunge Paste and some Infusions. I’m using Rocky Road (such a cool color!) but of course any of the shades will work. To apply the Grunge Paste to the cardstock, you’ll use an acrylic block as a “stamp”. Add some Grunge Paste to the block, then stamp it repeatedly on the card. Leave some areas of white showing. When the Grunge Paste is dry, tap on some Infusions and mist with water. The Infusions will bleed into some areas of the Grunge Paste, and also on onto the white of the cardstock. Of course every look will be different depending on the color you use, and the amount of water.
I’ve used Eclectica ESN24 for the background and #loveyou stamps, and Eclectica ESN32 for the winged heart.
The stamps and Grunge Paste are all from PaperArtsy. You can find PaperArtsy supplies at your independent craft stores, both brick-and-mortar and online. For those in the US, try Frantic Stamper. Those in the UK can check out Stampers Grove. While these two are not the only PaperArtsy retailers, they do carry a wide range.
