Hi friends! Lately I’ve been working with the Hunkydory Christmas supplies for the Saturday with Sara #91: Favorites #7 by Hunkydory. Yes, it’s my 91st Saturday with Sara Webisode—wow!
This week I wanted to share with you some of the card projects from this Webisode. Hunkydory is the best for quality papers and foiled toppers, and this Christmas selection makes it fast and easy to make really polished cards. Let’s have a look—
This is one of my favorites from the Webisode—with some simple patterned paper and this large gold-foiled topper, you have an instant background. I added some poinsettia die-cuts made from Hammered Gold paper and the Christmas Past die set. The little beads you see in the centers are called Caviar Beads, and they make a nice bit of texture to a card. You simply add a bit of white glue to the surface, then sprinkle on the Caviar Beads, let them dry and tap off any excess—a bit like using glitter.
For a completely different look, this mischievous kitten tangled in tree lights is perfect for those cat-lovers. The large focal is one large topper backed with white cardstock. I added a bow made from the Bow Dies set, using Hammered Gold paper and red cardstock. This die is super-easy to use (I demonstrate how in the Webisode) and looks great on a card or on top of a package.
Back to a more traditional look, this large floral topper also has some Caviar Beads in the center—with a large focal like this, you don’t need to do much more to the card design, but I also added a gingham bow at the bottom left plus foliage from the Christmas Past die set.
And finally, these sweet penguins, all in a pyramid—this is a layered topper, where you can use foam tape to stack some of the image elements to create dimension. At the bottom, I used some faux snow from Hunkydory.
Don’t forget to check out the complete video to see the demonstration—the Bow Die, the Caviar Beads and the faux snow plus more.
Happy Holidays, everyone! I will be signing off until the New Year—enjoy these last few weeks of December and I’ll see you in 2025!
