Hi friends! Today I want to share with you an easy way to put your monoprinted backgrounds to use!
Earlier this month I launched new stamps and stencils with PaperArtsy. You can check out the release video here, or pop by the PaperArtsy blog to see loads of project examples.
For the blog projects, I made a ton of monoprinted backgrounds using a Gelli Plate and PaperArtsy paints. If you’ve done monoprinting before, you know it’s a great way to get a lot of cool painty backgrounds—one session means I usually end up with a nice big stack of backgrounds that I can use another time. So yesterday I pulled out my stash and put together a quick card, using my *new* Eclectica ESN46 stamp set for the quote, and Eclectica ESN44 stamp set for the leaves. The background was reverse-stenciled with the PS202 flower collage stencil.
The backgrounds were made with the following PaperArtsy paints: Aqua Duck Egg, Peachy Keen and Butter. The reverse stenciling was done with Elephant, a lovely gray.
On the focal, I used a monoprinted piece, then stamped the leaves from ESN44 with Peachy Keen, then overstamped with Grunge Paste. Once that dried, I stamped the quote from ESN46 in black.
I die-cut this from a set of basic nested “stitched” squares; this one I layered onto a slightly larger square.
A bit of twine and some sequins and we’re done! Easy—and a fun way to put together a quick card.
Again, if you like, you can check out the release video for the new June 2020 stamps and stencils, or pop by the PaperArtsy blog to see project examples.
Enjoy!
