I’ve had this Scripted Leaf stamp from Stampington for forever—and I love it for Christmas cards, so I thought I’d revisit this favorite stamp plus a favorite technique using Ranger’s Distress Crackle Paint. Take a look!
What you need:
- Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint (Ranger)
- Cardstock: white, green, black, red
- Black and white checked ribbon
- Stamp: Scripted Leaf (Stampington)
- Jet Black Archival inkpad (Ranger)
- Shabby Shutters Distress ink (Ranger)
- Peeled Paint Distress Marker
- Spritzer bottle with water
- Craft sheet
Here’s how to make it:
1) Apply Shabby Shutters ink directly to a craft sheet and spritz with water. Drag a piece of white cardstock through the wet ink, applying a lot of color to the edges of the paper. Let dry, then stamp the leaf with black.
2) Apply Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint over the stamped image. Let dry, then color the leaves with Peeled Paint Distress Marker to highlight the cracks. Tie a knot in a piece of checked ribbon and wrap around the stamped focal, securing the ends at the back with clear tape.
3) Make a red card blank. Cut green cardstock slightly smaller and mount on black, then glue to the card front. Attach the stamped focal in the center.
Note: This card was originally part of a larger article published in Crafts Beautiful magazine, the UK’s largest crafting magazine. If you like this card, you might check out the latest issue of Crafts Beautiful, as I have a monthly column!
