Last weekend I escaped to Hamburg for the Weihnachtsmarkt—or Christmas Market. Most German cities have a Christmas market with stalls full of handmade gifts, ornaments, leather goods, hats, scarves, gloves, sweaters, and of course, traditional bratwurst, potato pancakes, hot corn on the cob, crepes, waffles, cakes, chocolates, roasted candied almonds (oh, my) and more. You stand at one of these little tables with your food and maybe a cup of cocoa, glühwein or beer and enjoy the festive atmosphere. I got to the market early in order to take some photos before the crowds started to arrive, and found these pristine tables with sweet little Christmas lanterns.
Happy Friday!
