The weather is warming up here in Sopot, and the beach scene and long evenings are attracting the usual influx of tourists—while inspiring everyone to enjoy the great outdoors while having a drink or two. Or three. Lately my morning walk is like an archaeological expedition minus the digging: Empty bottles perch on fences, railings, curbs and benches; they loll along sidewalks and in bushes, evidence of the previous night’s activity. Apparently parties happen on just about every street corner around here. Clearly, I’m not invited.
Last Sunday morning I came across this trio of bottles, just so perfectly placed, I couldn’t resist taking a photo. I love spotting things in uneven number groupings—after all, the Rule of Uneven Numbers can play out by coincidence just as well as by design. And the fact that one bottle is turned around so you can’t see the label and another bottle is different from the other two just makes the scene that much more interesting. Perfect design, and I didn’t have to touch a thing. Thanks, Party Guy(s).
Here’s to sunny weather and whatever drink you’re having!
Happy Friday.
