Today on Studio SN on You Tube: Cardmaking Backgrounds with Spectrum Noir AquaTints!
Spectrum Noir AquaTints are intense concentrated liquid water paints from Crafter’s Companion. I love their rich, vibrant color—and how you can do so many different techniques with them.
Cardmaking Backgrounds with Spectrum Noir AquaTints, what you need—
- Spectrum Noir Perfectly Primary AquaTints (Crafter’s Companion)
- Eclectica ESN15 stamp set (PaperArtsy)
- Cardstock: White, black, gray
- Jet Black Archival ink (Ranger)
- Black brads
- Foam tape
- Red gingham ribbon
- Blank white card
Cardmaking Backgrounds with Spectrum Noir AquaTints, how to do it—
- Use a stipple brush to brush #34 yellow AquaTint onto white cardstock. Immediately blot with the second piece of white cardstock. Separate the two, then set one aside for a future card of your choice.
- Place the blotting card on your work surface. Dip the pipette into the #11 red/orange AquaTint; hold the pipette and tap with your hand to spatter color onto the yellow card. Let dry.
- Mat the background piece on black, then gray cardstock. Wrap with gingham ribbon and add brads at each corner.
- Use the stipple brush to lightly swipe yellow AquaTint across a small piece of white cardstock. Let dry, then stamp the quote with black ink. Tear the bottom edge and mat on black card. Foam tape to the card front.
- Tie a bow in gingham ribbon and glue as shown.
