{Project} Wednesday: Cardmaking Resist with Gelatos

Today on Studio SN: Cardmaking Resist with Design Memory Craft Gelatos!

I love love love this technique because it is so simple to do and it looks great! Plus you know I am mad about my Gelato pigment sticks and I’m always looking for ways to put them to use. Here I’ve heat-embossed a stencil design, then used Gelatos on top to add color. You just wipe off the embossed areas and you have a really cool background!

Gelatos Resist, what you need—

Gelatos Resist, how to do it—

1. Tape the stencil to white cardstock with masking or washi tape. Press the Versamark inkpad through the stencil.

2. Remove the tape and sprinkle with embossing powder. Tap off the excess and heat-set.

3. Apply Lemon Gelato all over the embossed area. Use a baby wipe to blend. Wipe off excess, then repeat with Tangerine. Buff with tissue or dry cloth.

4. Mat on white cardstock, then gray, and glue to the card front. Mat a strip of white cardstock on black, then glue across the card front. Add velvet ribbon.

5. Die cut a label from white cardstock. Stamp the sentiment with black. Foam-tape it to a label cut from black cardstock. Attach to the card front, and add a knotted piece of velvet ribbon.

6.Glue a button in each corner of the card front. Note: These buttons are all slightly different!

That’s it—easy! To see the video tutorial, just stop by Studio SN on You Tube to watch the Gelatos Resist video.
