Happy Wednesday! Today we’re playing with the super-popular Couture line of cutting dies…including my favorite, the Artistry Collection Alphabets!
I love that you can use both the positive and negative of the letters, so I put together an easy card and gift tag combination.
Couture Card and Tag—what you need:
– Couture Artistry Collection Alphabet Template dies, available at Create and Craft USA or Create and Craft UK.
– Couture Garden of Eden Trim dies, available at Create and Craft USA or Create and Craft UK.
– Cardstock: white, green
– Silver thread
– Green sheer dot ribbon
– Cream silk ribbon
– Die cutting machine
– Clear rhinestone
– Masking tape or washi tape
Couture Card and Tag—how to make them:
For the card:
1. Place the letter dies on green cardstock, aligning them unevenly. Use masking or washi tape to secure them in place, then run through the die-cut machine. Remove the letters from the cardstock, setting the cut letters aside. You’ll be working with the negative of the green cardstock.
2. Place the border trim die along the bottom edge of a piece of white cardstock and run through the machine. Glue the green cardstock piece at the top and trim off excess from the sides. Wrap the edge with silver thread. Tie a bow in green ribbon and glue as shown. Mat the piece on green cardstock and glue to to the card front.
For the tag:
1. Use the scallop trim die to cut one edge of a piece of green cardstock. Cut a second piece from white cardstock. Use the border trim die to cut the bottom edge of the white cardstock. Cut the sides slightly smaller than the green cardstock and glue together.
2. Glue the cut letters from the card project as shown. Tie silk ribbon in a knot and glue as shown, then add a clear rhinestone at the bottom of the tag.
Easy, isn’t it? I love these alpha dies and as you can see, they’re perfect for cards as well as tags. (They’re also great for scrapbook pages, too.)
Enjoy! Couture cutting dies are available at Create and Craft USA or Create and Craft UK.
