Happy Wednesday!
If you joined me on Create and Craft last weekend, you saw me with the Couture cutting die range—as usual, I prepared more demos than I needed. The good thing is that I can share them here with you!
This card is using the Couture By Create and Craft By Invitation Only Collection. This is one of my all-time favorite collections, because it has so many fabulous layering dies. Last week I showed you a technique using lots of shimmery satin board cardstock for an anniversary card. This week I want to show you a similar layout, using plain bright-colored cardstock so you can see the versatility. PS. If you’d like to keep up with lots of Couture inspiration, there’s a special Facebook group called Couture Dies Crafting and we’d love to see you there.
Couture Let’s Celebrate Card, what you need—
Couture By Create and Craft By Invitation Only Collection
Cardstock: Purple, white, teal, lime
Foam tape
White ribbon
Low-tack tape
Couture Let’s Celebrate Card, how to make it—
- Fold an A4 (or 8 1/2″x11″) sheet of purple cardstock in half lengthwise and score. Keeping the cardstock folded, place the large scallop square die onto the cardstock, positioning the bottom point of the scallop along the open edge of the cardstock. The die will hang over the folded edge. Secure with low-tack tape. Die cut. This is your shaped card base.
- Die cut a large white lacy scallop square and cut in half. Glue one half to the bottom of the front of the card.
- Cut a narrow strip of teal cardstock and glue it to cover the seam between the white half-scallop and the purple.
- Die cut two green corner silhouettes and two white lace corners. Glue the white lace corners to the green corner silhouettes.
- Die cut a small silhouette square from teal cardstock. Die cut a small green lacy scallop square and glue the two together. Place the square as a diamond and position the two corners at the top right and left.
- Glue the piece to the card front.
- Die cut the “let’s celebrate” sentiment from white. Die cut a purple silhouette label and glue the two together. Glue to the card front with foam tape.
- Tie a bow in white ribbon and glue as shown. That’s it—easy! Hope you enjoyed the project. And if you like Couture cutting dies, why not join other Couturists on Facebook? There’s a special group called Couture Dies Crafting. We’d love to have you there!
