{Project} Wednesday: Couture Pagoda Card

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Thanks for bearing with the gap in posts—Christmas and an international move made it tricky to update weekly.

Many of you joined me on Create and Craft TV last week, where I was demonstrating the new Couture range of dies. Thanks to all who tuned in (in the US and the UK!) and for sending your emails. It’s always a treat.

Couture Create and Craft Defining Moments Destination Dreams card

With that in mind, today’s project features a card using the new Couture Defining Moments Destination Dreams dies. These were the most popular from all the collections, so I just had to share a quick and easy project with you here.

Couture Destination Dreams Pagoda Card, what you need—

Couture Defining Moments Destination Dreams: Create and Craft

Create and Craft Pack of 30 A4 Satin Board 250 GSM: Create and Craft

White cardstock

Foam tape

Self adhesive pearl embellishments

Blank card

Glue stick, white glue or spray mount adhesive (your preferred adhesive for intricate dies)

Scissors

Cream silk ribbon

Couture Destination Dreams Pagoda Card, how to make it—

  1. Use the pagoda die to cut the motif as an edger from gold satin board. (This will cut half of the motif from the cardstock and leave the other half uncut.) Glue to white cardstock.
  2. Use the pagoda die and the pagoda companion die to cut the motif as a focal from green satin board. (This will cut the motif out entirely.) Repeat to cut the motif as a focal from lavender satin board.
  3. Glue the green pagoda focal on top of the gold edger pagoda.
  4. Use scissors to snip out the pagoda and two of the blossom branches from the lavender motif. Use foam tape to adhere the lavender pagoda on top of the green pagoda, and use glue to adhere the two blossom branches as shown. Tie a knot in cream silk ribbon and wrap around the bottom left corner.
  5. Cover the card front with peach satin board. Glue the layered pagoda motif on top. Add self adhesive pearl embellishments as shown.

That’s it—easy, elegant and a perfect way to maximize the use of some very versatile dies. You can find them at Create and Craft, where you can watch from anywhere in the world via their website

Enjoy!
