Happy Wednesday!
Today I have a quick and fabulous card featuring a fun nautical theme. I live by the beach—the Baltic Sea, right at the top of Poland—and in summertime, we’re at the beach a lot. (Winter, too, when the sand is covered in snow!)
The card features the FabScraps Beach Bliss Card Kit, which includes everything from the papers to the card base to the chipboard to the laser die cuts.
Nautical Beach Card, what you need—
Beach Bliss Create a Card Kit: FabScraps (includes patterned papers, card base, chipboard beach huts in frame, laser-cut beach hut paper, and card message) You can find this at Create and Craft USA or Create and Craft UK.
Hemp twine
Cardstock: Brown, red
White acrylic paint and cosmetic wedge
Nautical Beach Card, how to make it—
1. Paint the chipboard beach hut frame white. I use a cosmetic wedge to apply a light coat of paint. Let dry, then glue the laser cut paper beach huts on top of the corresponding chipboard beach huts. Mat the piece on red cardstock.
2. Cut a piece of striped paper slightly smaller than the card front and mat on brown cardstock. Glue it to the center of the card.
3. Cut a strip of brown cardstock to fit vertically on the left side of the card front. Glue it to the card front, leaving the top and bottom edges unglued.
4. Tear the bottom edge of a piece of tan patterned paper and glue it toward the bottom of the card front.
5. Gently lift up the top edge of the brown cardstock and glue two pieces of hemp twine to the back. Wrap to the bottom of the card front and secure to the back of the bottom of the brown cardstock. Add a bit more adhesive to the top and bottom of the cardstock to secure it.
6. Mat the “sail away with me” message on brown cardstock and glue beneath the beach huts. Tie a bow in hemp twine and glue to the top of the card front.
Whether you live at the beach like me, or simply love the ocean or all things nautical, this project is fast and fun to put together. Enjoy!
The FabScraps Beach Bliss Create a Card Kit is available at Create and Craft USA or Create and Craft UK. I think we’ve got videos for both kits online as well, so you can see me enthusing about them!
