{Project} Wednesday: Gilded Backgrounds with IndigoBlu Megaflake

Today on Studio SN: Gilded Backgrounds with IndigoBlu MegaFlake! This is another project from the workshop I taught at Creative Exchanges this spring. It’s a fast and easy way to get a beautiful background—and remember, you can also cut the background, tear it, die-cut or punch it for even more options.

Gilded Backgrounds with IndigoBlue MegaFlake, what you need—

• IndigoBlu English Cottage Paint: Emerald City, Cinderella

IndigoBlu FlitterGlue Kit in a Box Without Flake

• IndigoBlu MegaFlake: Chariot of Fire

• IndigoBlu Limor Circles Stamp Set

IndigoBlu Perfect Stamping White Cardstock

• Black cardstock

• Blank white card

• White grosgrain ribbon

• Mini price tags

• Black StazOn ink

Gilded Backgrounds with IndigoBlue MegaFlake, how to do it—

1. Trim the white cardstock to 4″ wide. Use a piece of Phat Foam (from the starter kit) to paint it with Emerald City. Let dry. Use the edge of another piece of Phat Foam to swipe the surface randomly with FlitterGlu. Apply MegaFlake to the wet areas, pressing the flake on with your fingertips. Brush off excess with your fingers, returning it to the Tuff box. Use the Scootchy Sponge to burnish the flake.

2. Mount the long edges on black card. Glue horizontally across the card front, trimming the excess from the sides.

3. Use StazOn to stamp three scuffy outline circles across the center of the card. Stamp an the alphabet circle in each outline. Stamp the scuff marks randomly as shown, overlapping the other images.

4. Paint the white grosgrain ribbon with Cinderella. (I used my fingers.) Let dry, then tie in a bow and glue as shown. Stamp a portion ofthe small alphabet circle onto a mini price tag, then loop around the bow and secure in place.

Here’s a variation, too:

Same paint, same stamp set—this time, using circle punches and foam tape to create the dimensional effect.
