{Project} Wednesday: How to Use Paper Crafter Crayons

Today on Studio SN: How to Use Paper Crafter Crayons!

Paper Crafter Crayons Card

Faber-Castell has these fabulous Paper Crafter Crayons—these are wax crayons that work beautifully as a resist, especially when paired with Ranger’s Distress Stain. I made a video about using Paper Crafter Crayons for Cardmaking awhile ago, combining them with stamped images, and this week I wanted to show you another technique: How to use Paper Crafter Crayons to do a rubbing with embossing plates.

What you need:

Paper Crafter Crayons: Pink, blue, green (Faber-Castell)

– Copy/printer paper

Simple Roses embossing folder (Hot Off The Press/Paper Wishes)

Antique Linen Distress Stain (Ranger)

Jet Black Archival inkpad (Ranger)

Just a Little Greeting stamp (Hot Off The Press/Paper Wishes)

– Cardstock: Teal, cream, green, pink

– Hemp twine, teal silk ribbon, gold thread

– Brown brad

– Foam tape

How to do it:

1. Open the embossing folder and place printer paper on top. Hold in place, then use the crayon to color on top, adjusting the pressure to make an impression.

2. Remove the paper from the folder and color in the roses with pink Paper Crafter crayon and the leaves with green.

3. Apply Distress Stain on top. Mat on teal cardstock, then cream and green. Wrap with hemp twine and add a knot of teal ribbon.

4. Stamp “celebrate” on cream cardstock and mat on teal. Insert a brad and wrap around the twine with gold thread. Use foam tape to secure to the paper.

5. Cover a card with pink cardstock and glue the matted focal to the center.

That’s it—simple! To watch the video tutorial, just pop by Studio SN on You Tube to watch How to Use Paper Crafter Crayons!
