Happy Wednesday!
If you’re headed to the pool or the beach this summer, then this fun little Echo Park mermaid card is for you!
Bonus: The mermaid is a cutting die, so you can create totally customized mermaids with all different skin/hair/eye colors. And of course, you can customize her tail and top too! And…as suggested from another crafter, you could even skip the long hair—keeping the bangs—and swimsuit top and have a little merman.
Echo Park Mermaid Card, what you need—
– Echo Park Let’s Be Mermaids 6″x6″ Paper Pad
– Sheer pink ribbon
– Cardstock: White, cream, brown, blue
– Sea Glass inkpad (Altenew)
All Echo Park supplies are available on Create and Craft’s website.
Echo Park Mermaid Card, how to make it—
1. Die cut the mermaid’s body from cream and her hair from brown. Glue a small strip of white cardstock behind her mouth for teeth, and blue cardstock behind her eyes. Glue her body to the hair, then glue the bangs of her hair on top.
2. Die cut the mermaid’s tail from polka dot paper and her swimsuit and starfish from purple patterned paper. Glue together, gluing all elements onto white cardstock. Ink the edges of the cardstock with Sea Glass ink, then mat on purple patterned paper and ink again. Wrap the bottom right corner with sheer pink ribbon.
3. Form a card blank from white cardstock, then cover with starfish patterned paper. Mat a strip of green patterned paper onto white and ink the edges with Sea Glass, then glue across the front of the card. Ink the edges of the card front.
4. Glue the mermaid to the card front. Tie a bow in pink ribbon and glue as shown. Add an enamel dot to the starfish in the mermaid’s hair, and three along the left side of the card front.
Easy, cute and fun—perfect for summertime!
This die set and paper pack (among other mermaid-themed supplies!) was from a series of Echo Park demos I did for Create and Craft TV in the US. For more info, and to check out these fun products, visit Create and Craft’s website.
I love this adorable card for a special little girl on her birthday. Love how you designed this mermaid bottom portion of her body, so unique! Thanks for sharing this cute card.
