Hello and happy Wednesday!
Today I want to share a quick and easy Valentine card, featuring some of my favorite heart stamps and a simple glue-stick-foiling technique.
Love You Valentine, what you need—
Stamps: Big Words, Layered Hearts (WOW Embossing)
Foil: Bright Silver (WOW Embossing)
Onyx Black Versafine ink
Cardstock: Kraft, fuchsia, black, white
Vellum
Black baker’s twine
Silver rhinestones
Glue stick
Love You Valentine, how to make it—
1. Stamp the large heart on vellum, the medium heart on kraft and the small heart on fuchsia. Let the ink dry thoroughly (especially on the vellum), then cut out each element.
2. Stamp “love you” on vellum. Let the ink dry thoroughly.
3. Apply glue stick across a piece of white matte card. Don’t cover the entire piece with glue, but leave some areas clear. Place the silver foil on top of the cardstock and press firmly. Let the glue dry thoroughly, then remove the foil sheet. Tip: The more glue you use, the more areas will be foiled.
4. Wrap the right edge of the “love you” vellum piece around the right side of the foiled piece and secure to the back. Use a light touch of glue stick to the rest of the vellum piece.
5. Mat the foiled piece on fuchsia cardstock, then black. Glue to the front of a kraft card blank.
6. Add the three stamped hearts to the card front, then embellish with rhinestones and a baker’s twine bow.
Glue stick? I will try this technique next. Thanks Sara. Have a great trip.
Yes, it’s so simple! (And inexpensive!) Let me know how you like it! x Sara
