Sara's Stamping Techniques Easy Watercolor Butterflies

Watercolor Butterflies, what you need—

Stamps: Easy Watercolor Butterflies (Hot Off The Press/PaperWishes)

Izink Dye Inks: Reglisse, Verveine, Aurore, Mer du Sud (Aladine)

Acrylic blocks or a MISTI (My Sweet Petunia)

White cardstock

Rhinestones

Ribbon

Mini brayer

Craft sheet

Water mister

Watercolor Butterflies, how to make it—

1. Use the MISTI to stamp the butterfly outline with Reglisse onto white cardstock. Remove the stamp but leave the cardstock in place.

2. Position the large silhouette butterfly onto the outline, then close the MISTI so the stamp clings to the platform. Ink the stamp with Mer du Sud, and stamp.

3. Stamp the smaller silhouette with Aurore. Stamp the butterfly body with Verveine.

4. Stamp the sentiment with Reglisse.

5. To make the background: Press Mer du Sud, Verveine and Aurore inks onto a craft sheet and spritz with water. Use the brayer to roll out the ink. Press a piece of cardstock directly into the watery ink. Lift up. Ink the edges of the piece with leftover watery ink. Let dry, then mat on white card.

6. Assemble the card as shown, inking all the white cardstock layers with Verveine. Tie a bow in sheer ribbon and glue as shown. Add rhinestones.

If you enjoyed this technique, I think you’ll like my new e-book, Sara’s Stamping Techniques. It’s packed with 25 different ways to add to your stamped cards. Projects, instructions and videos are all included. Just pop over to the Bella Crafts Publishing site to learn more. Happy stamping!
