Today on Studio SN on You Tube: Stenciling with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Pens!
Pens and stencils are a great cardmaking combination—you can create some really fun accents and card focals with these two simple tools. For this project, I’m using the Pods on Sticks stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop, plus Spectrum Noir alcohol ink pens.
Stenciling with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Pens, what you need—
– Balzer Designs Pods on Sticks stencil, The Crafter’s Workshop
– Spectrum Noir alcohol ink pens: DG2, CG4, CG2, BT1 (Crafter’s Companion)
– Black fine-tip water-resistant pen
– Matte white cardstock
– Teal cardstock
– Gold Jewel Dazzles™, Hot Off The Press/Paper Wishes
– Teal gingham ribbon, tiny price tag
– Printer’s Type Alphabet Set, Hero Arts
– Foam tape
– Spray bottle rubbing alcohol
– Blank white card
Stenciling with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Pens, how to do it—
1. Place the pod stencil on white cardstock; secure in place with sticky notes or stencil tape. Use the black pen to trace three pods.
2. Remove the stencil and re-trace each pod twice more to get a sketchy effect.
3. Color the pods with the blunt tip of DG2. You don’t have to color in completely. Add more color with the blunt tip of CG2, filling in some of the white areas missed with DG2. Outline with the fine tip of CG4, tracing on the black lines. Outline the pods with the fine tip of BT1, tracing outside the lines.
4. Spritz with rubbing alcohol and let the alcohol ink colors blend.
5. Edge the cardstock with the blunt tip of CG2. Mat on teal card, then glue to the card front. Add gold jewel Dazzles™ stickers in each corner.
6. Tie a bow in gingham ribbon and glue as shown. Stamp or write “4U” on a mini price tag and add with foam tape as shown.
