Today on Studio SN: Stencils & Tracing Glitter Card!
I’m really into my decorator’s chalks lately; I re-discovered them during a studio clean and thought: Huh, I really need to use these. They’ve been around forever and will last you as long. And with all the cool stencils available now, they’re even more versatile!
What you need:
– Pink decorating chalk: Try Pebbles or Craft-T
– Kite Daisy Mania Stencil from Judikins
– Diamond Glaze from Judikins
– Authentique Renew patterned papers
– Heartfelt Greetings stamp set from Hot Off The Press
– Brown Jewel Dazzles™ from Hot Off The Press
– Black inkpad
– Staedtler Pigment Liner pen 0.5
– Fine clear glitter
– Brown ribbon
– White cardstock, black cardstock
– Blank card
Here’s how to do it:
1. Use the pen to trace one of the stencil flowers onto white cardstock. Keep the stencil in place and use your finger to apply chalk in the flower petals.
2. Remove the stencil and apply Diamond Glaze to the petals. While wet, sprinkle with glitter. Tap off excess glitter and let dry. You can use a small paintbrush to brush away any leftover glitter when it’s dry.
3. Stamp the sentiment with black and mat the stenciled piece on black cardstock.
4. Cover the card front with patterned paper and ink the edges. Glue the stenciled piece to the right side. Tie a knot in brown ribbon, wrap around the card front and add three brown circle stickers. Tip: When I wrap ribbon around the front of the card, I usually line the inside with coordinating patterned paper so it hides the ends.
