Wow—February already?!?
This month I want to share an easy and fun technique: Ink spritzing on Lazertran. You watch see the video here, and keep reading for written instructions.
Lazertran is a waterslide decal paper. It’s designed to be printed on with a home printer—they have a paper that’s made for laser printers and another for inkjet printers, so you can print your photos and make transfers. But you can also print on it other ways, like by stamping, inking or spritzing with a color spray.
Once you apply your color to Lazertran, you will need to let it dry, then soak it in a container with some shallow water. I use warm water—I find it works a bit faster than cold water, and it’s nicer for my hands! Let the liner soak off the Lazertran piece, then remove it from the water and let it dry (or just become damp) before gluing to a background piece.
Ink Spritzing on Lazertran, what you need—
Lazertran Waterslide Decal Paper for Inkjet Printers
Crushed Grape Dylusions color spray from Ranger
Thank You stamp: Eclectica ESN20 from PaperArtsy
Black inkpad
Cardstock: White, teal, lavender, cream
Blank white card
Book paper
Teal ribbon
Self-adhesive rhinestones
Shallow container with water
Paper towel
Mod Podge
Ink Spritzing on Lazertran, how to make it—
- Spritz Crushed Grape onto the white (not pale blue) side of a piece of Lazertran, leaving some white showing. Let dry, then place in a shallow container filled with water. The liner will begin to separate; when it does, remove the piece from the water and place on a piece of paper towel. Gently pull off the liner and pat the Lazertran piece dry or semi-dry.
- Apply a light coat of Mod Podge to a sheet of book paper and place the Lazertran piece on top. Smooth it to ensure there are no air bubbles. Let dry.
- Trim the piece down, then mount on white, teal and lavender card.
- Stamp the sentiment on cream card and trim to a strip, then mat on lavender and glue across the Lazertran piece. Wrap with teal ribbon, securing the ends to the back of the Lazertran piece. Glue to the card front. Tie a bow in teal ribbon and glue as shown. Add self-adhesive rhinestones.
