Technique of the Month: Layered Stamping with Altenew Painted Butterfly

Happy August, crafters! This month on Studio SN on You Tube, we’re exploring a simple technique from one of one of my favorite stamp companies, Altenew. This layering technique is easy to do and gives a really pretty dimensional look.

Layered Stamping with Altenew, what you need—

Painted Butterflies stamp set: Altenew

Cotton Candy, Dark Chocolate inkpads: Altenew

– Cardstock: White, brown

– Pink rhinestones

– Brown ribbon

Layered Stamping with Altenew, how to do it—

1. Use the Cotton Candy ink pad to stamp the silhouette of the butterfly wings.

2. Use Dark Chocolate to stamp the outline of the butterfly on top of the pink silhouette. Don’t worry about getting precise placement! Mat on brown, then white cardstock.

3. Use dark chocolate to stamp the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock. Mat the top and bottom edges on brown cardstock.

4. Glue the strip across the butterfly piece and wrap the ends to the back. Glue to brown cardstock, then to the card front.

5. Add rhinestone accents and a bow in brown ribbon.
