Tinting Grunge Paste with acrylic paint is a tried-and-true way to get custom-colored texture for your cards. Most often, we stencil with the tinted medium… but another fun application is with an acrylic stamping block. Simply apply the paste to a block, then “stamp” the tinted paste onto your surface. It creates an interesting mix of texture and shape. Take a look at the Peach-tinted square right behind the stamped butterflies:
Simply decant Grunge Paste onto your craft mat, then add acrylic paint. (I’m using PaperArtsy Peach Nectar Fresco Finish.) Use a palette knife to apply the medium to an acrylic block, then just stamp lightly onto white cardstock.
(Do be sure to clean your block quickly, before the Grunge Paste dries!)
Leftover tinted paste can be applied to the edges of your matting piece with a palette knife, as I’ve done here.
The teal blue you see on the card is Blue Lagoon paint, lightly brayered.
The butterflies are from Eclectica ESN33 stamp set, simply stamped with black ink.
Easy—and a fun way to make the most of your Grunge Paste and acrylic paints!
