Did you get a chance to hang out with us yesterday on the Altenew Facebook Live? If so, great! I’ve got a close-up of one of the projects I made. And if you missed it, the video is below. Enjoy!
This card was so easy to make, and the partial embossing technique is super versatile. Here’s a closer look:
Beautiful Blossoms Partial Embossing, what you need—
- Beautiful Blossoms stamp set (Altenew)
- Framed Dies (Altenew)
- Dye Inks: Permanent Black, Bamboo, Aqualicious, Olive, Teal Cave
- Embossing inkpad
- Golden Peach embossing powder
- Cardstock: White, black, kraft
- MISTI stamp positioner: I used the Original size in my video, but you can also get it as a Mini!
Beautiful Blossoms Partial Embossing, how to make it—
Place the large floral stamp on the MISTI and ink first with Bamboo, then stamp. Don’t worry if it’s not a perfect image. Leave the stamp and cardstock in place, then re-ink the stamp randomly with Olive. Repeat the process with Aqualicious and then, if you want, Teal Cave. When you’re done stamping, leave everything in place. Clean off your stamp and re-ink randomly with embossing ink. Stamp again and then remove the cardstock from the MISTI. Cover some areas with embossing powder, then tap off the excess and heat-set. You’ll have a partially-embossed image, with lots of variation of ink color.
Repeat the technique to stamp a portion of a flower onto white cardstock, then die cut into the oval shape. Add the sentiment with Permanent Black. Layer onto a black oval, and then onto a layered scallop frame made from black and kraft cardstock.
Assemble the card as shown and add a few gold sequins and green ribbon.
That’s it—enjoy! Be sure to check out the video and join me again next month!
