Welcome to Washi Tape Tuesday! Love washi tape? (Or maybe you have a stash that you want to put to use?) Then join me for tips, techniques and ideas for adding washi tape to your handmade cards!
Today’s Washi Tape Tuesday is a special one as I’m sneaking in a bit of an early look at one of my new Eclectica stamp sets from PaperArtsy. You’ll see the Big Reveal tomorrow, February 4, but for today I just couldn’t resist using just one little star stamp.
The best part? This card literally came together in minutes—a good thing, since we’ve all been scurrying to get things ready for the launch of these new designs. I’ll let you know about the videos, blog posts and guest designers tomorrow. For today, let’s check out the washi tape!
Star Washi Tape Card, what you need:
– Solid blue, peach, yellow washi tape (MT)
– Eclectica ESN13 stamps (PaperArtsy)
– Earthone Honey Regular embossing powder (WOW Embossing Powder)
– Shapeabilities Blossom Tags & Accents cutting dies (Spellbinders)
– White cardstock
– Gold button
– Sheer blue ribbon
– Foam tape
– Blank white card
Star Washi Tape Card, how to make it:
1. Apply yellow and blue washi tape diagonally across the front of a piece of white cardstock. Place blue and peach washi tape diagonally the other direction. Leave space between the strips. Glue the the card front.
2. Die cut a large blossom from white cardstock, then use foam tape to adhere it to the card front where the strips of washi tape intersect.
3. Stamp and emboss the star with gold on white cardstock, cut out and adhere with foam tape. Add a button and a bow tied in blue ribbon.
That’s it—easy!
Happy Washi Tape Tuesday!
