Water Splatter Embossing

Hi friends! Love creating abstract backgrounds? Then give this easy water-splatter embossing technique a try!

You can check out the video below, and keep scrolling to learn more about the paints and Parc Floral embossing powder.

First I created the painted portion of the background with a direct-to-paper squiggle of Limelight paint, then a splattering of Electric Violet. I applied the paint to one piece of cardstock, then blotted it with a second piece. Essentially, you’ll get two backgrounds in one go! The paints are Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic from PaperArtsy.

After the paint was dry, or mostly dry, I splattered the background with water and added Sunflower embossing powder from the Parc Floral Trio from WOW! Embossing.

For the stamped focal, I’ve used the Eclectica ESN28 stamp set from PaperArtsy, painting in the circles with Pixie Dust and watery Electric Violet.

It’s a super-easy way to get unique backgrounds—go for high-contrast colors as I’ve done here, or try tone-on-tone combinations. The choice is up to you.

Crafters in the U.S. can find the Parc Floral Trio at WOW’s US office; those in the UK and Europe, please visit the UK site.

Enjoy!
