Hi friends! After many months of travel and projects, I’m happy to bring you more cardmaking blog posts. Here’s one sharing a quick and easy card design made with the Altenew Wavy Roses stamp and die set. This is from the You Tube Live I did with Altenew last month.
(Missed the Live video? You can still watch it on You Tube.)
This card is one of my favorites, mostly because it includes a technique I love (spattering) and something a bit challenging for me (leaving things uncolored).
The background is a spattering of Altenew’s Metallic Shimmer Spray in Mountain Mist. I don’t spray the liquid, which would give a really fine misting. Instead, I unscrew the top portion of the bottle and remove the “straw” (for lack of a better word). Then, I hold it perpendicular to my white cardstock and tap with my hand. This gives me a lovely spattery pattern.

The metallic shimmer sprays are beautiful and give a really soft shimmery look. This technique works for all of your sprays, by the way!
The challenging part? Not to color in the flowers! Black and white is such a striking combination and sometimes I think leaving color out of the design is a really effective way to make a simple image stand out.
I stamped the flowers with Obsidian pigment ink, then die cut them and layerd them with foam tape for dimension. A bit of black cardstock provides matting, and some black and white baker’s twine adds softness.

Thanks for stopping by! Remember, you can catch the replay of the card techniques (and see more card samples) if you pop over to the Altenew You Tube channel.
Enjoy!
